Imitate Christ's Humility

Philippians 2:1- 18

Proposition: You have the mind of Christ now live the mind of Christ in a life characterized by humility.

1. Imitating Christ in His humility involves thinking of others ahead of ourselves.

2. Imitating Christ in HIs humility is linked to loving obedience.

3. Imitating Christ in HIs humility is nurtured by worship.

4. Imitating Christ in HIs humility is sustained by a life-long commitment to grow in Christ.

The Sower

Matthew 13:1-23

Since Christ is the sower and His Word the seed, let us learn from Him how to properly respond to His Word.

1. Pay attention. (3-4, 15)

2. Be truly converted. (5-6, 16-17)

3. Serve God only and exclusively. (7, 18-19)

4. Receive and absorb His Word into your life so that it becomes a part of you. (8, 20)

God will not be mocked; He will be honored in judgment for those who refuse to bow before Him.

1. Judgment for those who live self-centered, self-gratifying, self-exalting lives.

2. Judgment for blasphemers against God who refuse to repent of their arrogance.

3. Judgment for those who reject God’s call to repent of their self-centered view of reality.

Psalm 5

We are to approach God with an earnest desire to know the reality of His presence in our lives.

1. We approach God with reverential awe.

2. We are to approach Him with a sense of expectation of hearing from Him.

3. We are to come to God with a firm grip on the colossal magnitude of His grace.

Embracing the Whole Counsel of God

Acts 20:17-38

1. This is a task that requires passion

2. This is a task that is accompanied by risks

3. This is a task that is intentionally local but worldwide in its application
